ETHICAL & SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTION

CLEAN ENERGY

Striving to be Carbon Neutral, we produce 15 MW of clean energy / day through Solar and Wind energy. Our consumption is 10 MW / day and our surplus are diverted back into to the State government grid.

REUSABLE RESOURCES

We have a rain water harvest system which we utilize in drought periods. Our factory has a programme where they plant saplings in and around the community to contribute to the preservation of the ECO system.

1. The Ink That Makes You Think: Plastisol vs. Water-Based
• A Tale of Two Inks: It’s a story you thought you knew – water-based inks, the heroes of sustainability, and plastisol inks, the villains. But what if the roles are reversed in the modern screen printing saga?
• Plastic in Disguise: Here’s a twist – water-based inks aren’t as innocent as they seem. Did you know they contain plastics and other not-so-friendly chemicals? It’s a fact often shadowed by their ‘eco-friendly’ label.

2. The Carbon Footprint Conundrum: How We’re Breaking the Mould
• Energy Efficiency Revolution: Enter Rio plastisol inks. These aren’t your granddad’s inks. Modern technology has transformed them into energy- saving champions, cutting down curing energy by a staggering 25%.
• The Bigger Picture: While water-based inks might seem greener, their energy-hungry curing process tells another story, one of a larger carbon footprint.

3. Why Rio Plastisol Inks Are Stealing the Show
• The Eco Passport Advantage: Certified and safe, Rio inks meet global sustainability standards. We’re talking about inks that are as kind to the earth as they are vibrant on fabric.
• Durability Meets Eco-Friendliness: Superior quality, enduring vibrancy, and an eco-conscious heart – Rio inks tick all these boxes, challenging the outdated perceptions of plastisol inks.

4. Shattering Outdated Myths: A New Ink Narrative
• Beyond the Eco Label: The eco-friendliness of inks shouldn’t be a tale of outdated data. We’re here to tell you the full, updated story.

WHAT MAKES EASYPRINT A “GREEN” PRINT SHOP?

It is misconstrued across the industry Water Base compared to Plastisol inks are more eco friendly.
WELL HERE IS WHY WE USE AND RECOMMEND PLASTISOL

  • Requires more energy for longer time frames to fully cure
  • Solvents used in WB inks that evaporate, leave pigmented binder compounds on the garments.
  • Curing time can only be reduced with environmentally harmful catalyst, which gives a limited shelf life, therefore generating more waste.
  • Often contains co-solvents such as formaldehyde and alcohols, putting printers at risk from evaporative fumes.
  • Have a lower yield than plastisol and therefore generate more wastage.
  • Water base inks are still made from plastic.
  • Less colour accuracy.
  • Less energy usage, reduced carbon footprint, & smaller curers for plastisol.
  • Complete recyclability with minimal waste.
  • No odour.
  • Less fabric degradation due to lower curing temperatures – less waste/ rejects for landfill.
  • Less ink usage with alternative print methods due to quality.
  • Considered 100% solids and consequently provide a virtually 100% yield.
  • Cured plastisol ink can be disposed as normal plastic.
  • Wilflex plastisol inks are certified ZDHC Level 3 with Eco-passport.

AT EASYPRINT WE PRINT WITH THE ENVIRONMENT IN MIND, THIS IS WHY WE WANT TO MINIMISE THE OVERALL IMPACT THAT OUR BAGS HAVE ON OUR ENVIRONMENT.
